Philippines vs Singapore 1st Leg AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Match Analysis

The Philippines kept a clean sheet with a 0-0 draw against Singapore in the first leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 semi finals. The Singapore Lions were the better team during the first half having at least two attempts that were wasted against one from the Azkals through an attempt by Phil Younghusband.

During the second half, the Philippines had more chances as they were able to take better control of the midfield, Marwin Angeles contributing to that, and exploit the left side of the Lions' defense getting three getaways from Patrick Reichelt. Chieffy Caligdong was substituted for Reichelt and also had attempts but Singapore's defense held through blocks and sliding tackles that came like 22 inch drawer slides

The two teams will be facing each other in Singapore on December 12 and the Azkals need a win or a draw, except for a scoreless one, to advance to the finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012.
