Arsenal 1-2 Wigan Athletic | April 16, 2012 - Premier League

Early goals from Franco di Santo and Jordi Gomez aided Wigan Athletic with their relegation concerns with their first points at Arsenal. Di Santo completed a break and Gomez tapped in to give the Wigan a 2-0 lead after only eight minutes. Thomas Vermaelen's header in the 21st minute halved the deficit midway through the first half.

But Arsenal could not find another goal and blew the oppirtunity to move eight points ahead in the third position, while Wigan Atheletic are five points above the relegation zone.
