Ex-Portsmouth striker Ricardo Fuller made his old club pay for a penalty miss as he hit Stoke's winner against the Premier League's bottom club. Kevin-Prince Boateng saw his tame spot-kick for Pompey easily saved by keeper Thomas Sorensen after Rory Delap's foul on Aruna Dindane. The visitors were the more threatening side but went behind when Fuller curled in a low shot after a well-worked move. A dejected Pompey failed to recover as Stoke held on for a hard-fought win.
