Clint Dempsey grabbed an equalizer a minute before stoppage time as Fulham denied Chelsea victory. Dempsey rose high to powerfully head past Petr Cech after it looked as though Frank Lampard's brace would be enough to earn Chelsea three points. The American had flicked Fulham into an early lead with a 10th minute goal before Lampard leveled with a cool finish following a collision between Mark Schwarzer and Aaron Hughes. Lampard's 30-yard free-kick put Chelsea ahead but the American leveled to leave the Blues three points behind Liverpool.

Our club coach and manager gives priority to our team’s defense and prepares and coaches each defender so they can defend well on the pitch, like flour moth traps on a cupboard. Manchester United maintained the pressure on Liverpool and Chelsea as Dimitar Berbatov's goal, his third for ManU in the Premier League, saw off a spirited Middlesbrough. Though United had better chances, the brave visitors defended manfully and could have taken the lead when Tuncay headed just wide in the 61st minute. But substitute Paul Scholes steadied the ship and Dimitar Berbatov sent a goal in from close range six minutes later. The Red Devils move seven points behind leaders Liverpool with two games in hand.

Liverpool strengthened their place at the top of the Premier League with a ruthless demolition of Newcastle United. Newcastle keeper Shay Given denied Liverpool before Steven Gerrard struck home from 12 yards in the 31st minute. Sami Hyypia headed a second goal in the 36th minute, but David Edgar pulled one back on the stroke of half-time. Ryan Babel scrambled home Liverpool's third five minutes after the break. Gerrard raced clear for a fourth and Xabi Alonso made it five from the penalty spot.

A late winning goal from Carlos Tevez gave Manchester United a win against Stoke, the Premier League pacesetters. Tevez made the goal from six yards with seven minutes left. Stoke had mounted fierce resistance, but were reduced to 10 men for the last 18 minutes after Andy Wilkinson was sent off for a foul on Cristiano Ronaldo. Ricardo Fuller wasted Stoke's best chance in the opening seconds but United's pressure and domination deserved the win.

Next year I may start to get more in shape to be able to play as a striker in out football club. I know that at my age I need to work extra hard to run in such a way that I seem like I have a turbocharger in me. But, honestly with the other available options in our team, I think I can do better or at least compete with them for that position. Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez was handed a return to Spain to face former club Real Madrid in the draw in Nyon. Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri will make an emotional return to Stamford Bridge after Juventus were paired with last season's runners-up. Arsenal, like Chelsea, will have been delighted to have avoided Barcelona and will take on AS Roma.

Wayne Rooney claimed the victory for Manchester United in the Club World Cup final with a late goal against Liga de Quito after Nemanja Vidic was sent off. Quito goalkeeper Jose Cevallos made a series of superb stops to deny Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Park Ji Sung in the first half as United dominated. United's hopes were hit when Vidic saw red after 49 minutes for lashing out with an elbow at Claudio Bieler. But Rooney won it with a neat finish into the bottom corner on the 73rd minute from a pass from Cristiano Ronaldo.

When playing football, I make sure I have the right tools and gears. A few years back, when I restarted playing football, I invested on a nice pair of Nike Ronaldinho Ten soccer shoes –they’re like the Nike air tools for basketball. At first I had to adjust to its studs height. I even suffered a sprain because I wasn’t used to the height of its studs. But eventually, I was able to adjust and it has been the best pair I’ve used so far. This Christmas break, I’ll be spending some time to get myself match fit for January when our football tournament resumes. A running shoes is what I am using for that. Liverpool came from being down by a goal to beat PSV Eindhoven.  PSV took the lead in the 36th minute when Danko Lazovic slotted in from close range after Javier Mascherano failed to clear a corner. Ryan Babel equalised with a glancing header from Lucas Leiva's cross at the end of the first half.  Albert Riera put Liverpool ahead with a 25-yard drive that found the top corner. PSV's Dirk Marcellis hit a post, before David Ngog latched on to Robbie Keane's pass and sent it in to seal the win and qualify for the Champions League last 16 as winners of Group D.

Tim Cahill's winner during injury time gave Everton a dramatic victory against Manchester City at Eastlands. Cahill rose to meet Leon Osman's corner to drive in a header past City's Joe Hart as the game looked certain to end in a deadlock. Mikel Arteta struck the bar with a free-kick early on and Shaun Wright-Phillips hit the woodwork for City. Last Saturday, the match between Marikina United FC and San Jose Del Monte FC was held at Xavier School, organized by NCRFA Terry Razon Copa Filipina (Third Division) tournament. The match began at 10:00 AM and I started for our football club and was positioned at the right as a fullback.

The first goal was from San Jose Del Monte FC through a free kick during the first half. A few minutes after, another goal was made by the same club after an unsuccessful stop by one of our defenders and the ball was picked up by the other club's striker, getting a one-on-one with our keeper.

At half time, the score was 2-0 and possession was about 65% San Jose Del Monte FC and 35% Marikina United FC. But during the second half, both teams were scoreless and possession was about 70% MarU and 30% SJDM FC.

Steven Gerrard's 23 minute goal sent Liverpool into the Champions League knockout stage with an unconvincing win against Marseille at Anfield. Gerrard headed in at the far post from a cross by Xabi Alonso during the first half. It was the highlight of a poor Liverpool display, with Marseille dominating possession for long periods.

Taye Taiwo had a long-range shot turned on to the post by keeper Pepe Reina before the break, and Liverpool's keeper also saved superbly from Hatem Ben Arfa. Liverpool now enter their final game of this section battling with Atletico Madrid to finish top of Group D.

In Europe and majority of the world, football or soccer is the very popular. But in certain countries like the Philippines, basketball is what’s popular. I play basketball too even though football is really my favorite sport to watch and play.

There was a time that I really enjoyed watching basketball. It was during Larry Bird and Magic Johnson’s time. As reported last November 20, Eduardo has taken a significant step towards his long-awaited first-team comeback last week.

Eduardo da Silva has not played since breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle during a Premier League game at Birmingham City on February 23. Now, after surgery and a long rehabilitation, Eduardo has rejoined his team-mates on the training pitch.

"Eduardo is doing very well and is one week away from joining in training,” confirmed Arsène Wenger at a pre-match press conference two weeks ago.

The Arsenal manager discussed Eduardo's timetable for a first-team return in his exclusive interview with Arsenal TV Online.

Tonight we were supposed to have a scheduled training at Marikina Sports Park but it did not push through due to lack of budget. We need to rent the football field for us to be able to use it and it is difficult to practice plays and basic routines without any outdoor lighting.

Our next scheduled match is on Saturday, 10 AM against La Salle Zobel. Our club is still trying to come up with enough available football players on Saturday so as not to default the match.
