About 2008 Movies: Take This Survey...

The Goal of Football Videos and Pictures Blog

Live football and soccer matches is the best way to really enjoy a football match, but sometimes your schedule just won’t allow you to go to these live matches. The alternative is to watch downloaded videos of the whole match in a good home theater seating in your home or to watch football match highlights and goals of the soccer match you missed. This blog hopes to provide that for its visitors and to provide more than just football videos but pictures as well.

Manchester United Defeated 2-1 by Zenit St Petersburg

Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny

Manchester United's bid for the European Super Cup ended did not materialize as Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny goals earned Zenit St Petersburg a deserved win. Fresher and more incisive throughout, Zenit took the lead when Pogrebnyak forced home a header from close range. Playmaker Danny made it 2-0 with a fine solo goal on the hour, before Nemanja Vidic pulled one back from six yards. It was too little too late, though, with Paul Scholes sent off late on in a lacklustre showing from United.

Cooling Down After a Game

After every practice, as soon as I set foot upon my home, the first thing I would love to do is relax and just cool down. Maybe have a bite or two and take in some refreshment. This is what I constantly do in every single practice day, I know it's not just me. Running all those laps can really be strenuous. I sometimes stretch myself and do six to eight laps of running around the sports center Olympic size oval. Back home, we could use coffee tables and I just saw this online that can actually convert into an elegant dining table. It just so happened, we need to have our dining set replaced. To just sit and relax, enjoy a refreshment is the best thing to do after a serious work out.

Football Camp

It has been a while since I did my regular football routine of practice and exercise. The reason being: my primary job as a minister. I am just glad that our coach understands. It was nice to go back playing with the team again last week and I hope to do this again this week. We often do our practice and games in our nearby sports park. I wonder how its like to play with the team on the Outer Banks, just for a change. It would be nice to breathe in the fresh ocean breeze. I hope a football camp like such will be made possible. Players like us could really make use of one.

Portsmouth Defeated 0-1 By Manchester United

Darren Fletcher's deflected first-half shot was enough to give Manchester United a 0-1 win over Portsmouth. Pompey went close after only 12 seconds when Papa Bouba Diop's shot whistled past the post, before Wayne Rooney struck straight at David James from 12 yards. United began to look dangerous down the flanks and from Patrice Evra's cross, Fletcher bundled in via Sol Campbell.

Pompey's best efforts came after the break but Jerome Thomas and Papa Bouba Diop saw their shots saved comfortably. The video of Darren Fletcher's goal can be viewed below.

Official Football Club Picture

In our football club, Marikina United FC we have never really taken an official football club picture. It’s not that some of our members need to use a pimple cream for their pimples to get their picture taken, it’s just that we have never really planned or even thought about it. Usually, when are wearing our soccer jerseys we are already preparing for a match or warming up. But I hope that this season, we would be able to take our official football club picture.

For an Athlete's Convenience

Health should always be a priority for any individual. This is also the most important thing that any regular athlete should seriously look into. Preparing for tournaments is more than just the regular routine of exercise and practice. Oftentimes people take this for granted because of inconvenience. Now there is no reason for that because there are already delivery companies like that of DHP. If you are in need of TED Stockings or just about anything disposable in healthcare, go to them for exceptional personal service and quality products.

Chelsea Holds Off Wigan, 0-1

0-1 Deco 4"

Chelsea held off a determined Wigan to force a win courtesy of Deco's 25-yard free-kick. The midfielder scored in the 4th minute when he found the top corner after Lee Cattermole had handled.

But Wigan hit back and Blues keeper Petr Cech had to pull off smart saves to keep out shots from Wilson Palacios and Amr Zaki. Chelsea struggled for form but held on for a win as Cech again rescued them by keeping out a late Olivier Kapo shot.

Taking Care of An Athlete's Well Being

If there is anything that any regular athlete should take care of it is his health. Now that football season is finally around, more and more athletes are getting down to being serious about health issues and why not, this is no time for anyone of them to ever get sick. Even football players should consider those alternative health, especially that of colon cleanser. The idea behind this process is to eliminate all toxins that have long been in the system which is practically the root of all sickness. Personally, as an athlete, I am looking into this and probably would read more of it in the coming days.

Fulham Victorious Over Arsenal, 1-0

Brede Hangeland's first-half goal gave Fulham their first victory of the season against Arsenal. The giant Fulham defender stabbed in Jimmy Bullard's cross from close range in the 21st minute.

Emmanuel Adebayor headed Bacary Sagna's cross against the post shortly afterwards, but Arsenal were unable to turn possession into clear chances after that.

Bobby Zamora almost added a second after the break as Fulham's commitment earned a deserved three points.

Travel and Get a Giveaway

My in-laws are both in Houston, Texas now. They are there to enjoy life as they have both retired. It is not actually my mother-in-law’s first time to visit the United States. She has been there last year for a few months and have visited different places.

One of the places she visited was Las Vegas. Las Vegas tours, she said, are great. It was so enjoyable especially because she went their with friends she has not seen for a long time. But that is aside from the beauty of the place itself.

If I were to visit the United States I would visit New York. I like big cities and I’m curious about it. I’m also curious to visit the Metropolitan museum of art and see the collection of paintings, sculptures and other art works. Another place I want to visit is any city that shows MLS matches.

Fabio Paim On Loan

Chelsea has signed Sporting Lisbon striker Fabio Paim on loan with a view to securing him on a permanent deal. The team agreed a deal with the Portuguese club for the 20-year-old to join on an initial one-year loan. Striker Claudio Pizarro recently left Stamford Bridge to join Werder Bremen on loan, while Andrei Shevchenko's future remains unclear. Sporting has an excellent record in developing young players, most notably Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United.

What do you think about this loan deal? Do you agree with it?

Hoping to Find Time to Train and Play

It has been a while since I last ran laps and trained for a soccer match. Even though the invitation to be part of the competing team this season is still open I just couldn’t find time to practice because of my busy work schedule.

But I do miss running and I remember feeling real hungry after every training that I could eat a whole paella pan. I would do my regular jogging and then do some speed training routines. After that I would do some stretching and start to work on a soccer ball. I am not good but I have improved since the last season. I just hope that I could find the time to join this season.

A Van For Our Team?

Our football club, Marikina United FC, is a young club. Yes, it has young members but it has old members as well. It is young because we are new in the NCR FA scene. This season is actually the second time we joined a competition with an eleven-man team. Our club usually joins seven aside matches.

Having a team of at least eleven (plus the substitutes, of course) many times gives us a hard time getting from one place to another as a team. The venues of the football matches we have are from at least three different places last season, and we don’t really know what venues are for this season. But having this situation makes us see the need for getting a van for the team. Unless of course one of our team members would miraculously come up with a personal van that he would let the team use.

If ever our team does get a van, we will make sure that we get van insurance. That would protect our investment for the club and also our sponsors’ investment. A great source for insurance is For the insurance for vans, they search over fifteen different web sites and they have a free-to-use online price comparison service. This site usually search to find the cheapest price from over twenty insurers like Gladiator, Direct Choice, Performance Direct and many others.

But what makes this site different from all other sites that offer these? First, they are totally independent of the sites they promote. They just provide the listings available. Second, they do not charge people for using their service. Third, their purpose is to serve and help users who search for cheaper insurance quotes. In fact, they have helped over half a million users and they intend to help more everyday. Visit their site now.

Argentina Defeats Brazil in Olympic Semi-Final (3-0)

Argentina defeated Brazil 3-0 in the semi-finals of the Olympics to set up an Olympic final against Nigeria in the men's football competition. Sergio Aguero put Argentina ahead on 53 minutes when he chested in a low cross before his glanced shot added a second. Ronaldinho's free-kick hit the post for Brazil and Alexandre Pato was dubiously ruled offside when he touched in a Marcelo cross in the aftermath. Juan Riquelme's penalty finished off a Brazil side who had Lucas Leiva and Thiago Neves sent off late on.

Get Your Halloween Costume Here

As I have always written, getting the right gear for the game is essential. Even during trainings using the right soccer shoes, knee high socks to cover the shins, a pair of shin guards, wearing the right length of shorts and right size of the shirt or jersey is important to keep a football player comfortable, relaxed and undistracted from what he is supposed to do inside the pitch.

Well, without making a big deal about it, it is also important to wear the right Halloween costumes with your partner during a Halloween date at a party. If you feel like you need help in choosing or selecting a costume, you can visit This is a web site about costumes. As its tag line says, it is “the web’s finest theater and Halloween store.”

In this online store you can find batman costumes, if you feel like being a hero with a bit of a mysterious touch to your character, or try to look for a pirate costume. That is if you are feeling like you can carry it like Captain Jack Sparrow. Below are some pictures of the costumes I just mentioned.

They look so good, huh? Well, you don’t need to fear about its cost because actually I can let you in on a secret. I know about a secret haunted house backdoor on their web site. When you enter that back door you can find great discounts!

Just scroll down to the middle of the page where you can see the banner that says “Our Store now has over 10,000 masquerade items for you to choose from!” And in the comma found within that statement is a link to the haunted house backdoor.

This store, by the way, has a variety of costumes available. So you need not worry about running out of ideas about what to wear. Visit this great site now!

Are You In Favor of Capello's Decision for England's Captain

Fabio Capello has named John Terry of Chelsea as his captain. Defender Terry, 27, who succeeded David Beckham as skipper after the 2006 World Cup, was given the nod ahead of Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand. The Chelsea skipper, who has won 44 England caps, begins his second stint as captain in Wednesday's friendly against the Czech Republic at Wembley.

So, do you agree with the England coach's decision?

Watch It Live!

Even with good home theater seating, nothing beats watching a live football match. Well, since soccer isn’t popular here in the in our country, the only soccer matches I’ve watched were our country’s women’s football team’s matches during the last SEA Games held in our country. And boy that was thrilling and exciting. So if you have that chance where you are, don’t take it for granted. Watch it live while you can!

Get the Gear and Prepare

Getting the right gears and equipment for training and for football or soccer matches is important in any sport. Even for professional golfers getting the right golf club is essential to a golfer's success. Some players prefer Callaway golf clubs and others prefer other brands. In soccer the brand doesn't really matter, too. What matters is the preparation and getting the right gear and equipment to be able to prepare for a match.

Unconvincing Start by Manchester United vs Newcastle 1-1

Obafemi Martins celebrates after his goal

Darren Fletcher equalizes for Manchester United

The Red Devils made an unconvincing start to defend their Premier League title as they were held at Old Trafford by an impressive Newcastle.

Manchester United were denied a penalty when James Milner appeared to handle, but Newcastle took a first-half lead when Obafemi Martins powered home a header. United levelled only two minutes later when Darren Fletcher sank in Ryan Giggs' left-wing cross.

Pictures are above and videos of the goals are below.

It's a Team Effort On the Pitch

Looking for a football or soccer player to bring a football club into a championship is not as easy as looking for auto insurance quotes online. It can be quite tasking, and, to be perfectly straight, when it comes to soccer or football, it’s never really dependent on just one good player. It takes combining the gifts and skills of every player in the club and training them to become one scoring and defending machine on the pitch. As our football club prepares for another season, this is a great reminder for us.

Bolton Brushes Stoke Aside 3-1

Steinsson opens the scoring for Wanderers before Davies heads a second, and Elmander makes it 3-0

Kevin Nolan and Dave Kitson battle over the ball for the Trotters and Potters, respectively

Bolton's new boy Johan Elmander scored on his debut as Stoke were easily overcome on their Premier League debut. The Potters' physical play posed problems early on but Bolton took control and went ahead when Gretar Steinsson's attempted cross went in. Gary Cahill's free-kick saw Kevin Davies's flicked header make it 2-0 and Elmander sealed the win with a fine glancing header just before the break. Substitute Ricardo Fuller made it 3-1 with an injury-time header for Stoke. Fuller's consolation was barely deserved although it was probably down to Bolton's lack of ambition in an almost-chanceless second half.

Late Goal Lifts Liverpool Over Sunderland

Spanish striker Fernando Torres struck a brilliant late goal and winner as Liverpool made hard work of beating Sunderland. Torres received a pass from Xabi Alonso, turned into space and sent home a sensational drive into Craig Gordon's bottom right-hand corner from 25 yards. Below is a picture of Fernando Torres after hitting winning goal.

Arsenal Kicks Off Season with Win Over West Brom

1-0 Samir Nasri 4"

Arsenal began the new Premier League season with a victory over West Brom as Samir Nasri scored on his debut. Nasri struck from six yards after four minutes following Denilson's cutback. Nicklas Bendtner headed wide and Emmanuel Adebayor missed with a low shot across goal as the Gunners failed to score a decisive second. As Arsenal cruises past West Brom, Wenger looks forward to a bright season. Above is a picture of Samir Nasri after his fourth minute goal.

Shopping For a Shirt?

Aside from playing football or soccer, one of the things I like is shopping for a soccer shirt or jersey. I like to collect and wear replica shirts of my favorite teams both national and in the Premier League. I like funny shirts too, but I really prefer soccer jerseys and shirts. I also like the shirts from well known brands that feature a particular soccer superstar. For those interested in the same stuff, feel free to click the ads around this site and shop for what you want.

Raising Funds for New Gears this Season

As another season unfolds in the English Premier League, I’m sure that new equipment like shoes, jerseys, shin guards, socks and other equipment from sponsors. It is like receiving english saddles from sponsors for an equestrian. In our country, more specifically in our region, as a new season starts, funds for new uniforms and gears are being raised as football or soccer here in the Philippines is not popular. Our team hopes to get enough funds for this new season.

Pre-Season Training for Marikina United FC

As another season at for the National Capital Region Football Association (NCR FA) is about to start, trainings and efforts to become match fit has begun in our football club, Marikina United FC. For our team members who have been gone for a while, an alternative way to lose weight that they’ve gained during the off season if they are too lazy to train is Fentraphen. It is the is the ultimate alternative to consumers wanting to supplement with the costly (and sometimes dangerous) Phentermine/Adipex prescription weight loss drug. But the best way is the natural way. So we encourage our team members to take the trainings seriously and include it in their schedules.

Football Tickets

It is football season once again, the most awaited event the world over. Having heard of scams of ticket buying and selling from the ongoing Olympics in China, people cannot help but get skeptical in buying tickets online. Here’s what you can do to make sure you are getting your tickets from the right source. Know that there is just no place else you should get your football tickers than StubPass. This site is definitely more than your ticket venue that offers discounted Football Tickets for great seats.

Here’s what they guarantee unconditionally: First, tickets are all authentic and valid for entry. Second, they provide customers with a secure ordering system with the most reputable of companies. Third, you will definitely get a hold of your tickets on time for the football event. Fourth, you will not be given a second best ticket. You will receive tickets either comparable to what you ordered or better or your money back and fifth, you get to be refunded if in any case that the event gets cancelled.

Feel free to contact their customer service at or their toll free number. I would love to be able to watch one of those games with family and friends.

Manchester United Awaiting Park's Return

A Picture of Manchester United's Park Ji-Sung

Manchester United hopes to have Park Ji-Sung back in training next week after his recovery from a knee injury. Park has been sidelined during United's pre-season preparations after he aggravated an old knee problem while on international duty in June.

The South Korean said, "I need probably one more week before I return so I'm nearly there. I'm looking forward to the season because last season I missed six months and I want to show my ability."

Gearing up for the Game

There are tons of sites that lead any soccer fanatic, especially those who actually play the game, to great choices of gears. I especially love to have one of those Philippine soccer team jersey and it is sold exclusively which makes it quite pricey. The 2008 Philippine Men's National Team Replica Jerseys are available for $79.99. I am not just about to apply for a no fax payday loan for me to get a hold one.

From jerseys to balls to soccer shoes, there are just tons of gears that are ever available online and if you are a soccer fanatic like myself you will just find yourself looking into the latest models and getting updated with all these – what team endorses which brand, etcetera. Truth to tell for a simple soccer player like me, I could always choose the alternative but still of quality kind. There are not much but you could actually choose from alternative that could be good enough. But if I do have the resources, I would go for the high end for durability and great quality.

I am reminded with all these as I prepare to gear up for our team’s tournament. I really hope I could join them and the game schedule will meet with my current one.

For the Soccer Mom or Dad

When my wife read a local celebrity magazine, she saw an article about celebrity moms and their parenting rules for their children. In this article were David and Victoria Beckham whose parenting rule is to play sports with their boys, Cruz, Romeo and Brooklyn Beckham. Victoria, also known as Posh Spice, may have a reputation as an unsmiling fashion icon and sometime popstar from her group Spice Girls, but behind closed doors she is a regular soccer mom. She said that her kids actually put her in goal and they just kick soccer balls at her.

So who says soccer and family don’t mix? Football can be a recreation for kids as well. For those with kids who love to play soccer but are still with babies, a great site to visit to find help in traveling your kids around is They have a variety of products available for traveling like the pram, buggy accessories, tandem buggies, triple baby pushchairs, three wheelers, the twin pushchair and other travel accessories. With all these available, you and your kids can enjoy going out to play football or soccer, if that’s what you prefer to call it. Visit this site now for other information.

Eduardo da Silva, Happy With His Recovery

Eduardo da Silva is positive and hopeful he can get back into action before the end of 2008.

Arsenal striker is continuing his recovery from the horrific injury he sustained in a horror tackle with Birmingham defender Martin Taylor last February. He has returned to England to continue his rehabilitation after spending four months in Brazil and the Croatian is happy with how his recovery is going.

Interview with Eduardo da Silva (Sky Sports)

"It is good [his recovery] because I was in Brazil for rehabilitation for four months, I worked hard every day doing two sessions for six or seven hours every day."

"I think for me it was very hard, but now I forget everything that happened.

"I came here to finish my rehabilitation.

"It was very difficult, very hard for me as Arsenal were playing very well [at the time of the injury], scoring a lot of goals and doing good in the table.

"For me it was very hard as I like playing and this injury means five, six, seven, eight months not playing and that is very hard for any player."

Eduardo da Silva is set to be assessed by Arsenal's club doctor today and the striker is hoping he can return to footballing action by Christmas.

"He is going to check my leg tomorrow, but about playing I don't know. Before Christmas, maybe."
