EURO 2008: Spain Reigns, Defeats Germany, 0-1

Spain claimed their first major title in 44 years after capturing the Euro 2008 title with a deserved win over Germany. Fernando Torres was the hero for the Spaniards, striking in the 33rd minute when he cleverly lifted Xavi's pass over Germany keeper Jens Lehmann. Spain dominated the final match, getting other opportunities with Torres heading against the post and Marcos Senna almost adding a second from close range in the 80th minute. EURO2008: Spain Defeats Russia 0-3, Joins Germany For Finals

Spain showed a tactical display to cruise past Russia and set up a Euro 2008 final against the Germans on Sunday. Cesc Fabregas was the man behind the win after coming on as substitute for injured David Villa. Xavi Hernandez sent in Andres Iniesta's cross in the 50th minute and Daniel Guiza, who came in as substitute, struck a great pass from Fabregas in the 73rd minute. Fabregas led David Silva for a simple third goal in the 82nd minute as a Russia ended beaten. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Germany Ends Turkey's Dreams (3-2)

Philipp Lahm's late goal sent Germany into the Euro 2008 final and sank Turkey. Lahm stole in on Thomas Hitzlsperger's pass to beat Rustu Recber and give the Germans the win after a thriller in which Turkey was the better side. Ugur Boral put Turkey ahead in the 22nd minute, but Bastian Schweinsteiger leveled immediately from close range. Miroslav Klose headed Germany in front in the 79th minute, but Semih Senturk eqialized before Lahm's late strike. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Netherlands Left Behind By Russia 1-3

Russia's Andrei Arshavin was the initiator as they left Netherlands for the semi-finals of Euro 2008. Russia took the lead in the 56th minute when Roman Pavlyuchenko volleyed home, only for Ruud van Nistelrooy to head in an 86th-minute equalizer for Netherlands. But the brilliant Arshavin tormented Netherlands throughout and he crossed for Dmitri Torbinski to get a goal in. Arshavin then sealed Russia's bid for the semi-finals in the 116th minute as he ran through and fired low past Dutch keeper Edwin van der Sar. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Portugal, Turned Back By Germany, 2-3

Germany guaranteed their place in the semi-finals of Euro 2008 by sending off Portugal in Basel. Bastian Schweinsteiger sent in the first goal of the match and for Germany and his free-kick created the second for Miroslav Klose. Nuno Gomes struck from close range to give Portugal hope, but they were not able to defend another Schweinsteiger free-kick and Michael Ballack headed in Germany's third goal. Portugal substitute Helder Postiga sent one goal in during the dying stages but it was not enough to keep the Germans from clinching the semi-final berth. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Russia Defeats Sweden 2-0, Moves to Quarter Finals

Russia defeated Sweden in Innsbruck to gain a quarter-final meeting with the Netherlands in the last eight of Euro 2008. Andrei Arshavin, playing his first game of the tournament after suspension, inspired a superb attacking display. He was part of the attack as Aleksandr Anyukov set up Roman Pavlyuchenko for a close-range goal in the 24th minute. And Arshavin then started and finished a sweeping move to slide home Yuri Zhirkov's pass after 50 minutes of play. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Spain Makes It 3/3, Defeats Greece 1-2

Spain made it a hundred percent at Euro 2008 as Greece bowed out of the tournament with a 1-2 against Spain in Salzburg. Defending champions Greece took went ahead when Angelos Charisteas headed in a Giorgios Karagounis free-kick. Spain equalized when Ruben De la Red sent in a shot in off the underside of the crossbar. And the Spaniards kept up their three out of three record when Daniel Guiza headed in a late winner from a Sergio Garcia cross. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Italy Leaves France Behind for the Quarter-Finals

Italy claimed a quarter-final duel with Spain as they sent France out of Euro 2008. France evening was a nightmare, losing key man Franck Ribery to a serious injury after only seven minutes. Eric Abidal was then sent off for a foul on Luca Toni to give the Italians a penalty, sent in by Andrea Pirlo after 25 minutes. Thierry Henry deflected in Daniele De Rossi's 30-yard free-kick in the 62nd minute as the world champions joined the group winners Netherlands in the quarters.

EURO2008: Netherlands Ousts Romania

Goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Robin van Persie killed Romania's hopes of making the Euro 2008 quarter-finals. Italy's victory over France meant that the Romanians had to beat the Dutch to move on, but they rarely threatened goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg. Huntelaar started the scoring in the second half when he sent in Ibrahim Afellay's low cross from the right. And Van Persie secured leader Netherlands their third win from three when he struck from close range. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Austria Defeated by Germany

Michael Ballack's awesome second-half free kick handed Germany a last eight tie against Portugal at the expense of Austria who exited Euro 2008. The Chelsea midfielder scored the only goal of the match when he sent in a powerful 30-yard shot from a free-kick won by Philipp Lahm. The video of the goal is below.

EURO2008: Poland Beaten by Croatia

Ivan Klasnic gave Croatia their only goal only goal as Poland's unlikely bid to reach the last eight died. Needing to beat Croatia by at least two goals, and for Germany to lose to Austria, only a string of Artur Boruc saves kept Poland's losing margin down. Danijel Pranjic, Ivan Rakitic and Klasnic had all been denied before the latter lashed in the winning goal left-footed from 12 yards early in the second half. The video of the goal is below.

EURO2008: Switzerland Ends on a High, Beats Portugal

Hakan Yakin's two goals ensured that Switzerland ended their Euro 2008 campaign on a high note at the expense of Group A leader Portugal. After a goalless 45 minutes, Yakin gave Switzerland the lead when he sent the ball in through the legs of keeper Ricardo. He scored his second with a firmly struck penalty after Fernando Meira fouled substitute Tranquillo Barnetta. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Turkey Comes From Behind, Wins vs Czech Republic

Nihat Kahveci gave Turkey two late goals to complete a comeback against the Czech Republic and secure a Euro 2008 quarter-final for his country. Jan Koller sent in a header to put the Czechs ahead before Jaroslav Plasil slid in a second goal. Arda Turan got one in for Turkey to set up a tense finale and Nihat equalised after Petr Cech dropped a cross. Nihat then kicked in a shot off the bar before Turkey keeper Volkan Demirel was red-carded for a push on Koller. Tuncay Sanli went in goal as Turkey completed a classic and unlikely comeback to set up a last-eight tie against Croatia. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Sweden Bettered by Spain

Spain got a Euro 2008 quarter-final spot after David Villa's goal sank Sweden and Russia beat Greece. Spain took the lead after 15 minutes with a clever move that was concluded by Fernando Torres who poked home David Silva's cross. But Sweden levelled when Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent in Fredrick Stoor's cross in the 34th minute. Spain, who could have had a penalty when Johan Elmander barged Silva, were frustrated by Sweden keeper Andreas Isaksson before Villa's dramatic finish.

EURO2008: Russia Gives Greece Its Exit Pass, Defeats Them 0-1

Russia beat Greece to send them out of Euro 2008 and set up a deciding final game against Sweden for a slot in the quarter-finals. Konstatin Zyryanov scored the winner a few yards away after 34 minutes after Sergei Semak took advatage of Greek keeper Antonis Nikopolidis's mistake. The video of the goal is below.

EURO2008: Netherlands Beats France

Netherlands ended at the top of Group C and reached the last eight of Euro 2008 with a great victory against France. Dirk Kuyt put them in front after in the 10th minute. Substitute Robin van Persie sent in Arjen Robben's cross on the hour, before Thierry Henry gave France its only goal of the match from close range with 19 minutes left. Robben's angled goal a few seconds later sunk France deeper and Wesley Sneijder added a fourth from 20 yards in injury time. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Italy Ties Match vs Romania

Italian keeper Gianluigi Buffon's late penalty save kept Italy in Euro 2008 after a draw with Romania. Mutu sent in a shot after a poor backheader to put Romania in the lead. The lead lasted almost a minute with Christian Panucci sending in Giorgio Chiellini's header across goal. Buffon dived to his left to block with his hand Mutu's spot-kick which was then cleared after coming off his right foot. Buffon's passionate celebration was very nuch like Italy's relief and they will now have to beat France to get a chance of reaching the quarter-finals. Videos of the goals below.

EURO2008: Austira Tie vs Poland, 1-1

Co-hosts Austria were given another chance for the Euro 2008 quarter-finals when Ivica Vastic scored a stoppage-time penalty versus Poland. The English referee ruled that Mariusz Lewandowski sent down Sebastian Proedl and substitute Vastic kicked the penalty past Artur Boruc. Boruc had earlier made a string of fantastic saves to keep Austria from scoring, with Martin Harnik wasting two great opportunities. Poland's only goal came when Roger Guerreiro converted a first-half cross from an offside position three yards out. It was a dramatic finish in Vienna and both sides' chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals remain very slim, though Vastic's dramatic goal does send Croatia through to the last eight. EURO2008: Germany Suffers Loss vs Croatia, 2-1

Croatia claimed a deserved victory over pre-tournament favourites Germany to claim a place in the Euro 2008 quarter-finals. Darijo Srna scored the first goal in the 24th minute when he beat Marcell Jansen to Danijel Pranjic's cross and hit home. Croatia were gifted a second goal on the 63rd minute when Ivan Rakitic's cross came off Lukas Podolski and bounced off the post for Ivica Olic to tap in. EURO2008: Switzerland Bows Out of Tourney, Loses to Turkey, 1-2

Euro 2008 co-hosts Switzerland was knocked out of the tournament after they lost to Turkey, 1-2. The Swiss had taken the lead during a downpour when a cross slowed down on the drenched field and allowed Hakan Yakin to send the ball in. Yakin missed a chance from the same spot and was punished later on when Semih Senturk headed Turkey's equalizer. EURO2008: Czech Republic Defeated by Portugal, 1-3

Cristiano Ronaldo sent in a goal and set up another as Portugal gained their second successive victory. Portugal went ahead in the 8th minute when Deco scrambled the ball past Czech keeper Petr Cech at the second goal attempt. Libor Sionko sent in a header from a corner to equalize but Ronaldo gave back the lead with a low drive and then set up Ricardo Quaresma for a simple tap in. EURO2008: Spain Wins Against Russia 4-1

David Villa scored the first hat-trick of Euro 2008 as Spain scored a fine victory against Russia in Group D. Russia started well but were hit on Spain's counter-attack, with Fernando Torres squaring for Villa to roll home. Konstantin Zyryanov saw a shot hit the post but then Villa prodded past Igor Akinfeyev to double the lead and in the 74th minute he scored a third goal. EURO2008: Portugal Wins vs Turkey 2-0

The Euro 2008 campaign of Portugal opened impressively with a 2-0 victory over Turkey. Pepe opened the scoring in the 61st minute, surging from defense to beat Turkey keeper Volkan Demirel after a slick 1-2 pass with Nuno Gomes. Portugal deserved their win with attempts from Cristiano Ronaldo and Gomes; the former, hitting the post from a first-half free-kick and the latter denied two times by the woodwork after the break. EURO2008: Czech Republic Wins vs Switzerland 1-0

Substitute Vaclav Sverkos scored the first goal for the Euro 2008 tournament for Czech Republic with a second-half strike that broke Switzerland's defense. Alexander Frei was twice rejected by Petr Cech before the Swiss captain was forced off because of injury and Hakan Yakin headed a chance wide after the break. On the 70th minute Sverkos sent in a low volley from 12 yards after latching on to a ball over the top of the defense.
