Racing 0-2 Real Madrid

Real Madrid moved a closer to capturing a second successive Primera Liga title with a 2-0 win at Racing Santander on Sunday evening. Raul gave the visitors the lead after 13 minutes and substitute Gonzalo Higuain wrapped up the scoring with a late goal against a stubborn Racing outfit. The win saw the champions move 10 points clear of second-placed Villarreal at the top of the Primera Liga.

Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United, Match Day 36

Chelsea moved level on points with Premier League leader Manchester United with two matches left. Michael Ballack gave Chelsea the lead in the 45th minute but Wayne Rooney drove in an equalizer from an error from Ricardo Carvalho. Carrick was penalized for blocking Essien's cross with his arm and Chelsea was awarded a penalty kick which Ballack brilliantly took advantage of.

Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea, Champions League Semi Finals (1st Leg)

Arsenal 2-0 Reading, EPL Matchday 35

Arsenal gains a comfortable victory over Reading and went ahead after 30 minutes with Emmanuel Adebayor's goal from Kolo Toure's cross. Eight minutes after, Giberto Silva added a second goal when his long range strike deflected off Andre Bikey.

Chelsea closed in on Manchester United's Premier League lead as it defeated Everton 0-1 at Goodison Park. Michael Essien scored the winning goal in the 41st minute after an exchange of passes with Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Barcelona 1-0 Schalke, 2nd Leg (1/4)

FC Barcelona won 1-0 against FC Schalke 04 (2-0 on aggregate) in the second leg of the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League and got a semi-finals berth. Yaya Toure contributed his first goal in the competition and it took only that to secure Barca's semi-final match up with Manchester United.

Manchester United 1-0 Roma, Quarter Finals 2nd Leg

Manchester United FC prepares for a semi-finals meeting with FC Barcelona as it cruised past AS Roma 1-0 (3-0 on aggregate) in the second leg of the quarter finals of the Champions League. It was Carlos Tevez who delivered the win for the Red Devils as he headed in a goal in the 70th minute.

Liverpool 4-2 Arsenal, Second Leg

Liverpool entered the Champions League semi-finals after giving Arsenal a disappointing end in their campaign in the second leg (aggregate 3-5). Although Abou Diaby put the Gunners ahead in the 13th minute, Liverpool's Sami Hyypia and Fernando Torres quickly reversed the lead. Emmanuel Adebayor scored after a great run by Theo Walcott for another deadlock but a successful penalty kick from Steven Gerrard put Liverpool back in the lead. At two minutes into extra time, Ryan Babel completed the 4-2 victory.

Chelsea FC secured their semi-final berth in the UEFA Champions League as it scored two goals against Fenerbahce SK in the second leg, winning 3-2 on aggregate. Michael Ballack's early header and Frank Lampard's goal in the 86th minute delivered the win for Chelsea who has a chance now for a double crown in the Premier League and the Champions League.

Newcastle United Wins vs Reading

Newcastle United's strikeforce were all on target as they won against Reading 3-0. Obafemi Martins controlled the pass of Nick Butt and scored the first goal of the match. The second goal was scored by Michael Owen who hooked the cross of teammate Habib Beye into the net. THe same teammate set up Mark Viduka who capped the game with his sure-footed goal in the 58th minute.

Arsenal Held at Home by Liverpool

Arsenal's Premier League title hopes took another beating as Liverpool held them to a tie at home. The Gunners made slow start and got eaten up by Peter Crouch's powerful goal just three minutes before restart. Nicklas Bendtner equalized with a header in the 54th minute from Cesc Fabregas' free-kick.

Manchester United Escapes Loss vs Middlesbrough

Manchester United escaped a loss against Middlesbrough as Wayne Rooney sunk in a goal at the 74th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo gave them an early lead converting Michael Carrick's cross in the 10th minute but Afonso Alves two goals, in the 35th and 56th minute, gave Middlesbrough the lead. Rooney's away goal could have been a crucial goal as it kept United leading 3 points ahead of Chelsea.

Chelsea Defeats Manchester City 0-2

Chelsea defeated Manchester City 0-2 and moved to second place of the Premier League. They were given a bonus lead when Richard Dunne accidentally sent in Nicolas Anelka's cross to their own goal in the 6th minute. Manchester City did create some chances but never got a conversion. Salomon Kalou gave Chelsea breathing space in the 53rd minute which turned out to be the final goal of the match.

Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool, First Leg (1/4)

Liverpool takes the slight advantage next week as its first leg match with Arsenal was tied 1-1 in the Champions League 1/4. Emmanuel Adebayor's header in the 23rd minute put Arsenal ahead but Dirk Kuyt's important away goal three minutes later made the match even. The tie puts Liverpool slightly at an advantage in the second leg with the home crowd against Arsenal.

AS Roma 0-2 Manchester United (1/4) First Leg

The Ronaldo-Rooney tandem worked wonders for Manchester United as they captured a 0-2 victory against AS Roma in the first leg, virtually assuring themselves a semi-finals berth in the Champions League. The Red Devils dominated the Italians after last season's 8-3 aggregate win at the same stage of the competition showing clinical football tactics.

Cristiano Ronaldo's fantastic header came as a surprise to Roma defenders in the 39th minute and Wayne Rooney extended the lead in the second half with a goal in the 65th minute.

Schalke 0-1 Barcelona (1/4) First Leg

Barcelona stepped up significantly towards the semi-finals of the Champions League as they capture a hard fought victory over Schalke in their first leg match. Bojan Krkic scored the one and only goal from a pass from Thierry Henry after a blocked shot in the 12th minute. Schalke came to life in the second half after being dominated in the first half but failed to send the ball in the net, leaving them a tough assignment at Nou Camp next week.

Barcelona Bows to Real Betis 2-3

FC Barcelona squandered its 2-goal lead with a rally by Real Betis. Suffering a 2-3 defeat, the Calatans dropped into third place in the Spanish league after a win by Villareal over Atletico Madrid.

Bojan Krkic and Samuel Eto'o put Barcelona ahead early but during the second half, Real Betis rallied to make 3-goals in 15 minutes, two from Edu Schmidt and one from Juanito Gutierrez.

David Villa's Volley (Spain vs Italy 1-0)

Real Madrid Overcomes Sevilla, Leads by Six at the Primera Liga

Real Madrid dealt Sevilla a 3-1 loss at the Bernabeu moving six points clear at the top of the Primera Liga. Gabriel Heinze gave them the lead early on. Frederic Kanoute equalized for the visitors but Raul restored the lead six minutes before the break. Gonzalo Higuain sealed the victory in the 66th minute, to leave the champions on 65 points with eight games left to play.
