Manchester United Extends EPL Lead With Win vs Aston Villa

With a stunning 4-0 win against Aston Villa, Manchester United extended its lead to six points in the English Premier League. Showing excellent football, the Red Devils opened the scoring with Cristiano Ronaldo's outrageous flick from behind in the 17th minute. He then served Carlos Tevez for a second goal for United. Wayne Rooney capped the victory with two goals, the first one by eluding Scott Carson in the 53rd minute for a free shot at the goal and the second one coming from a pass from Ronaldo in the 70th minute.

Arsenal Hangs On to Title Race With Win vs Bolton

Arsenal hung on to the Premier League title race by coming from behind and taking the match from Bolton Wanderers. Two goals by Matthew Taylor, in the 14th and 43rd minute, put Bolton ahead. But the second half was a different story. In the 62nd minute, William Gallas sent in a volley and cut down the lead. Robin Van Persie made it even with a successful penalty. A shot by Cesc Fabregas bounced off against Jlloyd Samuel and went through the net giving Arsenal the victory under the driving rain and slippery pitch.

Newcastle United Comes From Behind, Wins vs Tottenham Hotspurs

After Darren Bent's header which gave the lead to Tottenham Hotspur in the 26th minute, Newcastle United bounced back and scored four goals. Nicky Butt provided the equalizer right before restart and three more goals followed during the second half. Geremi's free-kick gave Newcastle their lead and dominated thereafter. Michael Owen fired a curling goal after a decoy play by Mark Viduka. Obafemi Martins finished it up with a solo goal seven minutes before stoppage time.

Liverpool Wins vs Everton, Strengthens 4th Position

The 28th goal for the season for Fernando Torres gave Liverpool the victory against Everton after only seven minutes of play. The Spaniard's goal which was expertly shot past Tim Howard was the only goal of the game but it was enough to secure the grip of Liverpool on 4th place in the Premier League.

Manchester United Defeats 10-man Liverpool

Manchester United strengthened their lead at the top of the Premier League with a win over 10-man Liverpool. Wes Brown's header was the first goal for the Red Devils from a cross from Wayne Rooney. Right before the half time Javier Mascherano was given a red card for dissent, hitting the hopes of Liverpool. Another header, this time from Cristiano Ronaldo, strengthened United's lead. A final goal from Nani capped Manchester United's victory putting them five points ahead of Arsenal who were defeated by Chelsea.

Valencia Downs Barcelona 3-2

Valencia secured a place in the Copa del Rey final after dominating against Barcelona in the second leg of the semi final match in Mestalla last Thursday (4-3 on aggregate). Ruben Baraja opened the scoring for Valencia with a piledriver goal in the 17th minute. A second goal was delivered as Juan mata broke away right before restart. Thierry Henry's header in the second half put Barca on the scoreboard but Juan Mata bagged another goal almost immediately. And even though Samuel Eto'o sent in a late goal, it wasn't enough to stop Valencia from reaching the finals.

Real Madrid Defeated Again at Coruna With Win by Deportivo

Real Madrid failed to break their losing streak at the Riazor as they were defeated by Deportivo Coruna in the Primera Liga last Saturday. The Spanish champions have not won in La Coruna since 1991 November. An own goal by Portugal defender Pepe won the match for Deportivo.

Liverpool won their 5th consecutive Premier League match after a come from behind win over Reading at Anfield. Late Goal Ties Arsenal-Middlesbrough Match

A late strike from Kolo Toure, just four minutes before the end of the match, leveled the score in the Arsenal - Middlesbrough match, the 30th Matchday of the English Premier League. Manchester United Wins 1-0 vs Derby County

Barnsley Wins vs Chelsea

Barnsley claimed a famous 1-0 victory at Oakwell last Saturday stunning holders Chelsea and dumping them out of the FA Cup while securing a place in the semi-finals. Kayode Odejayi's 66th minute header from six yards scored the most important goal of his career to send the Yorskshire side in dreamland and into the semi-finals at Wembley.

Portsmouth Defeats Manchester United

Manchester United was defeated at Old Trafford by Portsmouth securing the latter's place in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. Sulley Muntari's spot-kick in the 77th minute proved to be decisive and ended the Red Devil's dreanm of winning the treble for the first time in nine years.

Barcelona Wins at Nou Camp vs Celtic

Champions League ambitions for Celtic were extinguished by Barcelona who defeated Celtic 1-0 and and advanced to the quarter finals on a 4-2 aggregate. Barca got off to a perfect start as Xavi Hernandez flicked the ball over keeper Artur Boruc after only two minutes. The Scots struggled to keep Barcelona contained but improved as the second half progressed.

Arsenal Defeats Champions League Holder AC Milan

Cesc Fabregas began AC Milan's defeat with a skimming drive and a strike from 30 yards in the 84th minute. Finishing off was Emmanuel Adebayor from a pass from Theo Walcott in stoppage time. The victory eliminated AC Milan, the Chamionship League holders.

Manchester United Wins Over Lyon and Advances to Quarterfinals

Cristiano Ronaldo's 30th goal of the season lifted Manchester United over Lyon (2-1 on aggregate) and on to the Champions League quarterfinals. Regaining possession from a block for Anderson's shot, Cristiano Ronaldo shot past Gregory Coupet. The Portugese striker has now his eyes set on beating the club record of George Best - 32 goals.

Manchester United Cruises Past Fulham

Manchester United won with a stylish victory against Fulham and closed in on Arsenal's Premier league lead. The Red Devils rested Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo until the last 20 minutes of the game but Owen Hargreaves started their journey with a goal in the 15th minute from a free kick from 20 yards.

The next goal was a rare header from Ji-Sung Park in the 44th minute from Paul Scholes' cross. Simon Davies own goal wrapped up the scoring for United in the 72nd minute.

Arsenal Keeps League Lead with a Tie with Aston Villa

A late goal by Nicklas Bendtner salvaged Arsenal from losing their place at the top of the Premier League after an own goal by Philippe Senderos.

Gabriel Agbonlahor of Aston Villa drove a low cross in the 27th minute but was sent into Arsenal's goal by the unfortunate Senderos.

Aston Villa almost added a second goal when Shaun Maloney drove in a fierce shot but Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia was able to turn the shot onto the post.

As a struggling Arsenal seemed destined for a defeat, substitute Bendtner sent in a goal to tie the match in the last 10 seconds.
