Six Nations Championship

Football is the most popular sport around the world. But in Europe, there is another sport, which is sort of a variation of the American football, that also has a major following – rugby. This started in 1871 when England and Scotland played the first rugby union international. Twelve years after, the inaugural Home International Championship was played and included Ireland and Wales. In 1910 the phrase ‘five nations’ was coined as France joined the competition. By the year 2000, Italy joined the tournament which became known as the ‘Six Nations Championship’.

The official web site for this annual competition is RBS6nations.com. They provide information like rugby news, tournament results, fixtures, updates as well as wallpapers, interactive games and venue guides in their fanzone page. They also have in their site videos of match highlights and the online version of their official magazine. Visit RBS Six Nations official website, Europe’s premier international rugby tournament.
