Pictures of the Fulham (2-2) Chelsea Match

Clint Dempsey grabbed an equalizer a minute before stoppage time as Fulham denied Chelsea victory. Dempsey rose high to powerfully head past Petr Cech after it looked as though Frank Lampard's brace would be enough to earn Chelsea three points. The American had flicked Fulham into an early lead with a 10th minute goal before Lampard leveled with a cool finish following a collision between Mark Schwarzer and Aaron Hughes. Lampard's 30-yard free-kick put Chelsea ahead but the American leveled to leave the Blues three points behind Liverpool.

No Compromise on Defense

Defense is very important in a football team. Our club coach and manager gives priority to our team’s defense and prepares and coaches each defender so they can defend well on the pitch, like flour moth traps on a cupboard. Sometimes, when our team lacks good players because they are unavailable, he makes sacrifices for the offense and focuses on defending during a football match. We hope that o our next game on January, our line up will be complete so no the offense won’t have to be compromised.

Manchester United Win vs Middlesbrough, 1-0, Close In On Leaders

Manchester United maintained the pressure on Liverpool and Chelsea as Dimitar Berbatov's goal, his third for ManU in the Premier League, saw off a spirited Middlesbrough. Though United had better chances, the brave visitors defended manfully and could have taken the lead when Tuncay headed just wide in the 61st minute. But substitute Paul Scholes steadied the ship and Dimitar Berbatov sent a goal in from close range six minutes later. The Red Devils move seven points behind leaders Liverpool with two games in hand.

Late Goal by Tevez Gives Manchester United Victory vs Stoke, 0-1

A late winning goal from Carlos Tevez gave Manchester United a win against Stoke, the Premier League pacesetters. Tevez made the goal from six yards with seven minutes left. Stoke had mounted fierce resistance, but were reduced to 10 men for the last 18 minutes after Andy Wilkinson was sent off for a foul on Cristiano Ronaldo. Ricardo Fuller wasted Stoke's best chance in the opening seconds but United's pressure and domination deserved the win.

Aggressive Strikers Needed

Next year I may start to get more in shape to be able to play as a striker in out football club. I know that at my age I need to work extra hard to run in such a way that I seem like I have a turbocharger in me. But, honestly with the other available options in our team, I think I can do better or at least compete with them for that position. During our past two games, we badly needed aggressive strikers and I hope that next year, our team improves in that area.

Schedules of the Champions League Knockout Phase 2009

Manchester United will be facing Inter Milan in the last 16 of the Champions League. Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez was handed a return to Spain to face former club Real Madrid in the draw in Nyon. Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri will make an emotional return to Stamford Bridge after Juventus were paired with last season's runners-up. Arsenal, like Chelsea, will have been delighted to have avoided Barcelona and will take on AS Roma.

Schedules of the ties are on 24/25 February and 10/11 March as the Champions League knockout phase begins.

Who Is Better, Ronaldo or Ibrahimovic?

In your own opinion, who is better, Cristiano Ronaldo or Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho insists his striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a better player than Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo. Mourinho said, "Ronaldo is a good player but he is certainly not the best. He deserved the Golden Ball award because his team won the Champions League and the Premier League. But, for me, Ibrahimovic is the best." Do you agree or disagree with these statements?

Keane Levels Liverpool Match vs Arsenal, 1-1

Robbie Keane struck a stunning leveler as Liverpool remained top of the Premier League and maintained an eight-point advantage over the Gunners, Arsenal. Robin van Persie put Arsenal ahead after collecting a long pass from Samir Nasri that he brilliantly controlled before sending in the goal. Keane's equaliser was equally spectacular, drilling home a long punt upfield on the half-volley.

Video of the Goal for Liga de Quito 0-1 Manchester United Match

Wayne Rooney claimed the victory for Manchester United in the Club World Cup final with a late goal against Liga de Quito after Nemanja Vidic was sent off. Quito goalkeeper Jose Cevallos made a series of superb stops to deny Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Park Ji Sung in the first half as United dominated. United's hopes were hit when Vidic saw red after 49 minutes for lashing out with an elbow at Claudio Bieler. But Rooney won it with a neat finish into the bottom corner on the 73rd minute from a pass from Cristiano Ronaldo.

My Pairs for Training

When playing football, I make sure I have the right tools and gears. A few years back, when I restarted playing football, I invested on a nice pair of Nike Ronaldinho Ten soccer shoes –they’re like the Nike air tools for basketball. At first I had to adjust to its studs height. I even suffered a sprain because I wasn’t used to the height of its studs. But eventually, I was able to adjust and it has been the best pair I’ve used so far. This Christmas break, I’ll be spending some time to get myself match fit for January when our football tournament resumes. A running shoes is what I am using for that. I hope the one I got lasts long enough because I just got a non-original pair.

Manchester City Defeated by Everton (0-1) With Late Goal

Tim Cahill's winner during injury time gave Everton a dramatic victory against Manchester City at Eastlands. Cahill rose to meet Leon Osman's corner to drive in a header past City's Joe Hart as the game looked certain to end in a deadlock. Mikel Arteta struck the bar with a free-kick early on and Shaun Wright-Phillips hit the woodwork for City. Marouane Fellaini forced a fine save from Hart, while Everton's Tim Howard did well to deny Robinho and Stephen Ireland to set up the late goal from Cahill.

Arsenal Win vs Chelsea (1-2) In Their Up and Down Season

Arsenal's shaky season is in the ascendancy again after Robin van Persie struck twice in three second-half minutes to stun Premier League leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Johan Djourou turned Jose Bosingwa's cross into their goal in the 31st minute to give Chelsea the lead as Arsenal's title challenge looked to be in danger of suffering a potentially fatal blow. And then, with Chelsea the dominant force, Van Persie delivered two crucial blows to earn Arsene Wenger's side a priceless win.

Liverpool Wins 1-0 vs Marseille Unconvincingly

Steven Gerrard's 23 minute goal sent Liverpool into the Champions League knockout stage with an unconvincing win against Marseille at Anfield. Gerrard headed in at the far post from a cross by Xabi Alonso during the first half. It was the highlight of a poor Liverpool display, with Marseille dominating possession for long periods.

Taye Taiwo had a long-range shot turned on to the post by keeper Pepe Reina before the break, and Liverpool's keeper also saved superbly from Hatem Ben Arfa. Liverpool now enter their final game of this section battling with Atletico Madrid to finish top of Group D.

Open Sports Partners With Rodman

In Europe and majority of the world, football or soccer is the very popular. But in certain countries like the Philippines, basketball is what’s popular. I play basketball too even though football is really my favorite sport to watch and play.

There was a time that I really enjoyed watching basketball. It was during Larry Bird and Magic Johnson’s time. This was the time that I started to notice the young Michael Jordan who eventually led the Chicago Bulls to multiple championships in the NBA. But the credit doesn’t belong to him alone because there are other players who did well during the Bulls’ reign in the 90’s. Dennis “The Worm” rodman was one of them.

Also known as “Dennis the Menace”, he captured the lime lights with his hair styles, attitude, his athleticism and great defense. Now, he partners with OpenSports.com to share his knowledge of basketball through self-written blog entries, video logs and participation in interviews with different sports personalities on and off-line. Throughout the season, “The Worm” will offer game predictions, commentary and analysis. He will also interact with fans online and in person at different live sporting events.

This was based on the press release at prweb.com/releases/2008/11/prweb1630124.htm. I think that this partnership will add a unique approach to basketball.

An Update On Eduardo da Silva's Return from Injury

As reported last November 20, Eduardo has taken a significant step towards his long-awaited first-team comeback last week.

Eduardo da Silva has not played since breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle during a Premier League game at Birmingham City on February 23. Now, after surgery and a long rehabilitation, Eduardo has rejoined his team-mates on the training pitch.

"Eduardo is doing very well and is one week away from joining in training,” confirmed Arsène Wenger at a pre-match press conference two weeks ago.

The Arsenal manager discussed Eduardo's timetable for a first-team return in his exclusive interview with Arsenal TV Online.

Training Cancelled

Tonight we were supposed to have a scheduled training at Marikina Sports Park but it did not push through due to lack of budget. We need to rent the football field for us to be able to use it and it is difficult to practice plays and basic routines without any outdoor lighting.

Our next scheduled match is on Saturday, 10 AM against La Salle Zobel. Our club is still trying to come up with enough available football players on Saturday so as not to default the match.

Manchester City 0-1 Manchester United, Ronaldo Sent Off

Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off as Wayne Rooney's 100th club goal was enough to give Manchester United a victory. Rooney followed up Michael Carrick's shot to break the ice before Ronaldo was sent off for a second booking after inexplicably handling.

Boxing Focus

This coming December 6, even though the number one sport I love and enjoy is soccer, I will be taking my focus off it for a while and put it on Manny Pacquiao's match against Oscar De La Hoya. If I had the chance and the funds I would even get my las vegas strip map out and look for a place to stay in vegas and get tickets to watch the match live. That match will be very much different from football matches as it will be one against one battling it out for pride and glory. And of course

Argentina Wins Over Scotland, 0-1

Scotland lost as Argentina marked Diego Maradona's first match as leader with victory at Hampden. Maxi Rodriguez gave the visitors the lead and the win after eight minutes at the end of a superb passing move involving Carlos Tevez and Jonas Gutierrez. James McFadden came close twice for the Scots before half-time and goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo saved well from the striker early in the second half. And the home side were unable to at least tie the game in the closing stages. Pictures from bbc.co.uk below.

England Wins 1-2 vs Germany in Berlin Friendly

Captain John Terry scored a late goal to earn England a fully-deserved friendly win over Germany in Berlin. Terry headed in Stewart Downing's free-kick after being involved in a defensive mix-up with Scott Carson earlier that gave Germany an equaliser. The pair failed to deal with a hopeful ball forward and German substitute Patrick Helmes pounced to score.

Matthew Upson had put a dominant England in the lead when he poked home a corner from the impressive Downing. The win made it five in a row for England on a night where almost everything went right for Fabio Capello.

Theo Walcott Injury Sets Him Up For Surgery

Theo Walcott, the winger from Arsenal, will have surgery after dislocating his shoulder and miss the next seven-to-eight weeks of the Premier League season. Walcott, who has a hereditary shoulder problem, suffered the injury in training with the England squad ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Germany. The 19-year-old saw a specialist after flying home and will have the surgery within the next two days. Walcott has suffered from a series of shoulder injuries in his career. He had his left shoulder pinned in 2007 and had to be stretchered off during Arsenal's recent game with Stoke after he fell on it and suffered spasms as a result. Need Legal and Medical Assistance?

Football, soccer or any other sport is a desirable sport to play and sometimes when a parent encourages his or her child to engage in a sport this is suggested but it can be real difficult for those with cerebral palsy. Those who have gotten this condition through an injury during birth can contact cerebral palsy lawyers for the situation to be reviewed by legal and medical professionals especially if the condition was caused by a medical malpractice.

Fulham Gains Deserved Win vs Tottenham, 2-1

Harry Redknapp suffered his first loss as head of Tottenham as Fulham sent them back into the relegation zone. Former Spurs winger Simon Davies was credited with the first goal in the 33rd minute, though it was another awful mistake by Heurelho Gomes, who fumbled into his own net. With the visitors in disarray from corners, Andy Johnson pounced to turn in the second during the 70th minute inside the six-yard box. On the 81st minute Spurs substitute Fraizer Campbell slotted home to create late tension but Fulham deserved their victory.

I am excited to try playing football using Wii. On January 8th my parents-in-law will be returning from their trip from the United States where they visited their relatives who worked in Dallas jobs. They have lots of stuff to bring home and Wii is one of them. I have seen that there is a FIFA football game for Wii and I am curious as to how close that is to the real game. I know that nothing beats a good game of real soccer but again, I’m curious and excited.

Goals Rain Down as Manchester United Wins 5-0 Over Stoke

Cristiano Ronaldo's 100th Manchester United goal set their team on their way to an emphatic home victory over Stoke. The Portuguese winger smashed home a trademark free-kick from 25 yards in the 3rd minute before turning provider for Michael Carrick to fire in United's second right before the end of the first half. Dimitar Berbatov volleyed home to extend the lead in the 49th minute before 17-year-old Danny Welbeck marked his Premier League debut with a stunning strike. Ronaldo sealed the win with his second, another expertly taken free-kick a minute before the end of the match.

West Ham United Ends Losing Streak, Ties With Portsmouth

West Ham stopped their losing streak with their first clean sheet of the season and a point, but they could easily have had all three. Portsmouth's three best first-half chances were from Jermain Defoe but despite the visitors dominating, keeper Robert Green was rarely tested. Craig Bellamy's second-half free-kick that hit the bar for West Ham was the best chance of the match. That chance inspired the hosts to go on the attack but Portsmouth dug in.

Thursday Training Rantings

Last Thursday we had our football club's training and it was about two hours of continuous running, sprinting, ball handling and then about an hour of scrimmages. We only stop for about 2 to 3 minutes of water break where some had to drink from Grohe faucets and some from their own water bottles. This is in preparation for our first match in the NCRFA Terry Razon Copa Filipina tournament where we will be facing 14 other football clubs.

West Bromwich Defeated by Chelsea, 0-3

Nicolas Anelka doubled as Chelsea claimed a convincing victory at rock bottom West Brom to move back ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings. The Baggies matched the visitors until Jose Bosingwa caught out Scott Carson, smashing in a goal into the top corner. Anelka ran clear to dink home a second then made it 3-0 before the break after latching on to Salomon Kalou's pass.

Preparing Four Our First Match vs Nomads FC

The schedule of the first match of our football club, Marikina United FC, was supposed to be last November 8 against UST High School, but this was postponed because the venue which was at Xavier School was not available. It turned out better for our football club because even though we are prepared for possible injuries, some members probably have health insurance like those that are provided by a North Carolina health insurance company, as a team we haven’t organized ourselves pretty well yet.

Our upcoming schedule, which we hope won’t be rescheduled, will be on Novermber 24, 6:30 PM against Nomads FC 3 at their football field. Right now, we are trying our best to be prepared enough as we can for this third division football match in the Third Terry Razon Copa Filipina Tournament.

Spying Over Burn After Reading

Aside from football, watching a movie on the big screen is one thing I like to do when I have time. It has been a while since I have entered a movie theater and I am hoping to get a chance on to eb in one on November 18 to see The Burn After Reading Movie Premiere sponsored by Nuffnang in cooperation with Viva Entertainment Inc and Robinsons Movie World. I'm sure that will be very exciting especially other co-Nuffnangers will be there, too. And I will take my chance to become one of the chosen few who will get to watch that premiere.

Arsenal Wins vs Manchester United 2-1 As Nasri Doubles

Samir Nasri contributed two goals as Arsenal defeated Manchester United and delivered an emphatic confirmation of manager Arsene Wenger's belief that they are still serious Premier League contenders. Nasri's deflected shot opened the scoring after 22 minutes and he doubled their advantage in the 48th minute with a powerful finish from Cesc Fabregas's accyrate pass. Substitute Rafael Da Silva volleyed United back into contention with a minute of normal time left - but Arsenal survived six extra minutes and an outbreak of mass anxiety at the Emirates to clinch the victory and earned three points.

From Riding Car Seats to Learning Football

Oh, how fast time flies. It seems like a while ago when my son was born and now he’s three years old. The baby that we used to hold and carry along our trips in car seats far off from the Britax brand, a year from now is ready to start learning football. I am now in search of the best football training center here in the Philippines that we can afford to help him learn football at an early age.

Giggs Equalizer Results in Celtic 1-1 Manchester United

A header by Ryan Giggs in the 84th minute gave United a deserved point in this thoroughly entertaining Champions League football match. The home crowd were ecstatic when Scott McDonald's delightful lob from 14 yards gave Celtic a 1-0 lead after 13 minutes of play. United pinned Celtic back for much of the first half, but stout defending limited the Red Devils to half chances. Giggs headed an 84th-minute equalizer when Artur Boruc could only parry a Cristiano Ronaldo shot, then Dimitar Berbatov missed a great late chance.

Videos and pictures of the goals of the match can be seen below.

1 Week To Go Before the 2008 NCR FA Tournament

Our football club is down to it last week before the NCR FA football season starts. Those who need to lose weight fast may have to take out and use their weight loss pills to have the right weight for running and playing in our team, but that won’t be enough to give them the stamina they need. Tomorrow, we will be receiving the schedule for the tournament and I hope I would be able to get some time to play during my spare time.

Frank Lampard's brilliant early lob put Chelsea ahead but Daniel Cousin almost levelled with a low strike from 20 yards that hit the post. Suicidal hesitation in the Hull defense allowed Nicolas Anelka to steal in and smash home Chelsea's decisive second. Florent Malouda then converted Ricardo Carvalho's cross from six yards.

A Message to Coaches

Coaching a football team is not easy. One of the things that a coach must have beside experience and skill in playing soccer is leadership. He must be like an IT expert that used cisco to network certain units of computers – linking his team members together and helping each member achieve his greatest potential and giving him a role to play in the team. So for all coaches out there, keep up the good work and may you continue to make yourself and your team improve.

England Wins Against Belarus

Wayne Rooney scored two times as England took a big leap towards World Cup qualification by beating Belarus to make it maximum points from four games. Steven Gerrard gave England the lead from 30 yards in the 11th minute, but Pavel Sitko equalized with a header for Belarus before the break. Rooney turned in a cross from Emile Heskey in the 50th minute. And he lifted home a superb third from Gerrard's pass 16 minutes from time to give coach Fabio Capello another victory.

Ballack Out For Three Weeks

Michael Ballack, midfielder of Chelsea FC, is out for three weeks after having surgery on both feet to remove thickened nerve tissue. The German suffered pain after Germany's 1-0 win against Wales in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday. The German Football Federation said in a statement: "A scan Thursday confirmed the presence of neuroma. After consultations with his club doctor, manager and coach, it was decided to have immediate surgery."

The big question is how will this affect Chelsea and Germany? Let's hope that their team has a deep support as the midfielder will be out for a while.

There are at least 15 teams who will be part of this tournament that will run from November to March.
