A Surprise While Watching a Football Match

Posted by Jeff | Tuesday, May 22, 2012

A few Sundays ago, while me and my son were watching a football game in our living room, we surprised my wife with a simple Mother’s Day present. She has gotten used to receiving surprises from me like when I got her gourmet gift baskets for her birthday last year and some perfume the other year so I thought it would really be nice to continue the pattern and surprise her. We’re glad that she enjoyed the surprise we had for her.

In the early part of June this year, the Philippines Football Team known as the Philippine Azkals will be facing three different countries. They will be facing Malaysia on June 1, Indonesia on June 5 and Guam on June 12. I am planning to watch one of the three games and I am hoping to watch it with people from our church’s youth ministry. I’m glad one game will be held at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium so we won’t have to travel far and take out trucks with whispbar roof racks to load our stuff on and transport everyone. I can’t wait to buy tickets this week.

Playing Football Using FIFA 12 App

Posted by Jeff | Friday, May 11, 2012

I've been playing FIFA 12 in my iPad 2 and have really been enjoying it so much that I've finished so many seasons already at the beginning and amateur levels. Now that I am playing at the semi-pro level it has become more exciting and more difficult. Defense is tighter and goal keeper is more responsive and scoring goals is not so easy. I am trying to wait for a discount window so I can add more money to my club and upgrade as much as I can. FIFA 12 is awesome!

Early goals from Franco di Santo and Jordi Gomez aided Wigan Athletic with their relegation concerns with their first points at Arsenal. Di Santo completed a break and Gomez tapped in to give the Wigan a 2-0 lead after only eight minutes. Thomas Vermaelen's header in the 21st minute halved the deficit midway through the first half.

But Arsenal could not find another goal and blew the oppirtunity to move eight points ahead in the third position, while Wigan Atheletic are five points above the relegation zone. Both teams played well and seemed like they were too fit for http://www.testosteronesupplements.org/axis-ht/ but in the end, Wigan stood as the victor.

Manchester United stayed up and retook a five-point lead above Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Ashley Young, who got a penalty-kick last week against QPR, was again involved, said to have been tripped by Ciaran Clark. The body contact between the two was not too much making the win against Aston Villa mixed with some controversial penalty kick. But Wayne Rooney converted the spot-kick early in the game before Danny Welbeck made it 2-0 before half time. Aston Villa improved after the break but Rooney and Nani sealed their win.

There were six yellow cards given, three for each club but no injuries were reported so no staff wearing nursing uniforms had to enter the pitch to take injured players out.

The Reds will play Everton next and then Manchester City and victory in these two matches could secure their 20th title in the Premier League.

Goals:

Wayne Rooney 7' (penalty)
Danny Welbeck 43'
Wayne Rooney 73'
Nani 90'

Maybe you're wondering what music has to do with football. A lot, I would say. One advantage of having players listen to music while training is that it lessens their focus on the physical strains of training and let's them redirect their attention to enjoying what they're doing because of the music.

Take for example the challenge of running and juggling. Running can improve stamina and juggling improves ball control and technical ability. But each exercise can be frustrating in the beginning. It takes a lot of practice, patience and discipline. But if players in the field can hear some upbeat music like some techno beat with riffs from Kawai Keyboards and guitar melodies, this may help them get motivated to continue instead of feeling frustrated which can make them give up easily. Try this during practice and see what happens.

This past week, 65-year-old Giorgio Chinaglia passed away from a second heart attack at his home in Florida. He was known for playing for Italy and S.S. Lazio and has made an appearance in 1974 FIFA World Cup. Back in 1976, the greatest player signed a contract to play for the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. In his entire stay for the team, he has established scoring 193 goals in 213 games.

The news of his death was announced and confirmed through a twitter message from Milan executive Umberto Gandini. Everyone was really shocked at the news. The place for the wake is now being prepared and cleaned up-from roof with gutter brush up to floors. There’s still no announcements for the date of the funeral but hopefully it will be open to the public so fans and friends can come by and visit the late Chinaglia.
